Catching Up Again

Here are some cute pictures of the kids from last week. I really wanted to post sooner but last week seemed like it flew by and then we were out of town for the weekend. I have been having a wonderful time with the kids! It's so much fun to watch their interactions with each other and to see Kai and Joseph getting used to their new buddies.

Joseph was home Monday through Thursday with his visiting Grandmother so we sure were glad when he came to play on Friday! He really seems to have adjusted to our time together well! He and Ainsley play nicely together, are sharing and cuddling and even having complete conversations with each other in their own little language. Joseph absolutely loves Belikan (who loves him equally so) and is happy to follow him all over the house to give him love.

Since Hayden is in school Monday through Thursday, he was very excited to be home 'with the babies' on Friday. He is a huge helper to me and loves to take on that role! He's doing much better sharing and playing cooperatively with Joseph...and thankfully Joseph has been very patient with this process :)

Kai is quickly mastering the art of self-feeding. I give him a yummy wheel to practice with while I get the other ones settled at the table and by the time I sit down it's usually already almost gone! He's also enjoying tummy time alot more. Suna says he likes it at home but my theory is that when he's at my house Joseph and Ainsley are far more entertaining than laying on your belly!

Ainsley mastered her first two signs last week! She signed 'milk' and 'more'! (And today she signed 'All Done') We've been signing to her for quite a few months now so it was really exciting to see it click and come back to us! I try to incorporate as many signs as I can throughout the day so I'm learning too!

My first blog written in actual time!

I think I'm finally getting the hang of this blogging thing: This is the first post I was able to write on the same day it occured; I deleted no pictures attempting to post them; I successfully uploaded videos from my camera! Yay me!!! My next goal will be to post during naptime and not at the end of the day! Anyways, enough of tooting my own horn.

Kai seemed like he was feeling a little better today and we are glad. Poor guy. I'm adding a picture of Kai practicing his pincer grasp with Gerber Veggie Puffs. He wasn't really able to get anything in his mouth and had alot more fun dropping them off of the side of the high chair. It must have been a conspiracy because Ainsley was sitting quietly under the high chair eating his cast-offs. I really wanted the little guy to successfully get some food from his hand to his mouth so I gave him a veggie 'Wheel" that was much larger to manuever. He liked that alot and gobbled it down.

The last picture is of a funny playdoh person that Hayden created this afternoon.

Here is a picture of little man Kai really enjoying a teething toy. It is a really cool teething toy...it vibrates!!! Who knew those toy inventors could be so innovative in meeting the needs of teething babies! Poor Kai was just not himself today. I'm not sure if he was just a sleepyhead or if his teeth were bothering him but the toy helped alot!

Tuesday 8/19/08

And just so you feel completely caught up...here are a few from Tuesday 8/19/08. School was cancelled so Hayden got to stay home and play with us. The last picture is one of my favorites...Dave was playing the drum with Joseph and Hayden (and Belikan).

Joseph's first day 8/18/08

I got the 'ok' from the mama of our "New Little Man" to include him in our blog! Yay! We are excited about that! I guess I can call him by his name now...although I was beginning to like his nickname! Let me introduce you to Joseph! Here are a few pictures from last Monday when he came over to play.

The last two pictures posted were from August 18, 2008. The first one is Hayden right before he left for his first day of Pre-K! What a cutie pie. The next one is Kai playing with a toy and giving me that adorable little look...

We had our new little man join us last Monday and Tuesday. I'm leaving out any pictures that include him until I clear the whole blogging with his mama. He was a joy to have...he actually made Ainsley easier! He's just enough older than her to keep her running all around the house after him. They entertain each other and have great fun playing and that, in turn, entertains Kai! It's hilarious to watch Kai try and follow (with his eyes) the kids all over the place. I just know he really wants to join in the fun! Soon enough little guy! Before you know it, you'll be the one doing the chasing!

Tropical Storm Fay came our way on Tuesday (and stayed ALL WEEK!!!) so Kai was home the rest of the week. "New Little Man" was with us for a half of a day on Tuesday and then he too was home the rest of the week. I'll add a picture of flooding in and around our neighborhood. Our house seemed kinda quiet and lonely without all of our new playmates! Hayden, Ainsley and I kept busy by making banana caramel cupcakes, making homemade playdoh, coloring, playing games, dancing, singing and watching movies. The sun finally came out at the end of the week and we ventured out to the park, only to find it was still closed due to flooding:(

Fay has FINALLY moved on, the sun is shining, and Kai is back! "New Little Man" is home with his visiting Grandmother this week so we are excited to see him next week.

I really didn't take any good pictures of the kids today...it seemed like their naps were perfectly staggered so that at least one was awake at all times so we just played and enjoyed each other. Better luck tomorrow on the blogging!

Oh, Suna thank you for the Starbucks Peppermint White Mocha today!!! You made my day!
